As the sun set in Second Life on the evening of the 21st, luxurious speedboats began to arrive with the sexy VIPs that would soon blanket the private sandbar island built specifically for the Rez Beach Party . A magnificent sunset bathed the island in a magical glow presaging the brilliant stars that would soon glitter across the night sky, as if dancing for the night’s festivals alone.

Before the event began, DJ Lynn packed the sim with an astonishingly large audience of sexy avatars, and that number would only continue to grow as the party begins to flow into the evening hours. Fire from tiki torches would cast a glow on the oiled and scantily clad bodies of the sexy Rezzers as DJ Sideshow stupidifed the crowd with his collection of hot, pixel-shaking mixes, some of which were personally mixed by the DJ himself.

As the handsome Rez bartenders Sean and Carter(is that a Jay-Z coincidence?) kept the glasses overflowing with coladas and margaritas and Sex On The Beaches, sexy Rez girls danced to the pounding drumbeats along bamboo tables surrounding the completely packed dance floor wearing little more than barely there bikinis. Watching over the crowd and keeping them safe, Mr. Phil Kearny stood watch from the Lifeguard chair when he wasn’t busy hosting the sexiest lady of the party portion of the event.

There were several contests throughout the 4 hours of straight partying, including one for hottest avatars; Miss Betty Hiess for the ladies and Mr. Joshua Tyler Maddoxx for the fellas. Also, some amazing prizes were given including numerous outfits from Danika clothing, and a Limelight photo-shoot(winner Elisabeth Contepomi pictured to the right). Congratulations to all of the lucky winners!

Throughout the throng of sexy VIPs were some notable regulars, like Kari Kennedy, quite a familiar sight at Grind and Byngo Bonus, as well as frequenting Rez Nightclub. Slick couple Shake and Alegra made an appearance, shaking their very sexy pixels. And spotted amongst the crowd were some of the very beautiful Ambrosia dancers, notably the very delicious looking Shelby Loudwater. There was even a celebrity appearance by Tommy Linden as he danced and grooved to the DJ’s sick tunes.

The entire event was a complete and unparalleled success. Bravo Zulu (navy term for you Phil) to all involved, the sim at one point playing host to 90 avatars and holding strong throughout the night maintaining an average of over 70 sexy VIPs, fighting off the lag monsters to make it a thoroughly enjoyable event for all who attended!

It is really great to have some promotion finally. People are having a great time at the REZ. Previously we relied on word of mouth to get noticed. Now people are just popping in and discovering the great social connections which the REZ is famous for.

Many of the newcomers are new to Second Life which is presenting a challenge for the Dancers who have to now answer questions like “how do i dance”, and “So you want the sex with me”? At REZ we love the noobies though because it keeps us on our feet. We love a challenge. Welcome all newcomers to the hottest social scene on the Grid.

What is Death Match? Its an arena where a circle in the middle. The Combatants step in to the center and wait for the command to fight. At that point the floor surrounding the disc the are standing on vanishes and they are left standing there. They then attempt to push each other off. The loser is the one who plummets 2700 meters into the cold ocean below the REZ.

The Rez girls line up and are ready for action sporting the Purple goodness colours of the REZ. They plan out the strategy for Death Match finding the best pair ups for the girl on girl action.

Sure, the REZ girls were a bit ghetto looking compared to the snazzy outfits that the Ambrosia Dancers were sporting. But the REZ Girls are tough as nails and that comes out in the ensuing match ups.

The Ambrosia dancers came out strong sending successive REZ Girls plunging to their deaths in the first 7 match ups. But REZ Girls are used to being the underdog and being pushed around by big sisters. In the following multi dacner girl on girl action they began to inch back to victory on the score board as Sideshow announced the blow by blow (wink,wink) action that was unfolding. The capacity crowd was going absolutely wild with many people commenting on how unusual and different this was to the usual Second Life experince.

In the end, in the final free for all 10 on 10 match, it was one dancer left standing for REZ night club, enough to clinch the final victory with a score of 18 – 17 in favor of REZ. The Ambrosia dancers were worthy opponents, but in the end luck favored the purple!

It is so easy to play. You pick out a comfy chair and settle in. Pay the main board and a card rezzes in front of your chair. The countdown begins and it is time for you to pay attention. As each number is called you need to touch the corresponding number that is on your card. Easy enough.

The skill element of the game comes in to play when a Bonus Byngo marker appears. There are 5 per game essentially acting as a joker and you must place them strategically. The winners of the game are awarded lindens for completion of one though 4 lines and for a full card.

Additionally, there is a contest each Sunday that you must qualify for that has prizes up to 20000 Lindens. Speaking of large prizes, there is a Superpot up for grabs that is awarded to the player that completes a bingo card in 50 rounds or less. Recently that pot has been as high as 800,000 Lindens which translates into almost $3,000 US Dollars at the current exchange rates.

She is at times irreverent and at other times totally out of control. Her shows are characterized by frequent outbursts and lengthy rants about random things that happen in Second Life as well as in the real world.

She has the dubious distinction of being the most notecarded entertainer in the club. A typical notecard goes something like this: “Your DJ doesn’t shut up and ruins all the songs. I brought my wife in to dance at your establishment and your DJ started to go on and on for 5 minutes about some things that i consider to be very rude and NOT funny”

Well obviously, this person has no sense of humor. Or perhaps he just came to listen to music and not an entertainer. In any case, the door is always open for their rapid exit from the venue.

On one typical night, Lynn was describing how some guy touched her in a real life club and how she turned around and clocked a 6 foot monster in the jaw and laid him out. Then she finished him off with a swift kick to the nuts. That’s one way to learn politeness, Lynn style.

Lynn has an interesting following that includes some of the more eccentric mutants of SL She somehow seems to connect with the people from the UK. Perhaps it is her insane cackle and affinity for bangers and mash. You will find out little tidbits about Lynn that will cause you to want more and more. You will find out that her mother is named Crazy Old Broad and that she has a cat that is larger than a pregnant lion. And that is just for starters.

When Lynn is performing there is no holds barred. Nothing is sacred and nothing is off limits. Get your notecards ready because we love when we get them!

Anj Gustavson, from Oak Ridge Tennessee, is an amazing talent. He is a virtuoso on the guitar as well as keyboards. All of his music and backing tracks are performed and recorded personally and then brought together in world to create a musical experience that is without parallel.

He plays an eclectic mix of cover tunes and some really smoking originals that set your toes tapping and your booty shaking. Whenever he plays at the REZ, it is a capacity crowd and no one goes home displeased.

If you have never experienced Live Music I would highly recommend you swing by the REZ and take a listen to what Anj has to offer. He plays rollicking rock and roll anthems as well as jazz fusion originals. His vocals are stirring and can be downright haunting on some of the tracks.

His followers, known as “The Continuum” are a rabid loyal crew and follow him with cult like devotion all over the grid. Anj’s shows are always fresh despite the fact that he has been performing weekly in Second Life for several years. He continuously adds new music to his repertoire to ensure that each show is different than the last.

It is amazing that so much sound can kick out of one person. This is a testament to the raw musical genius and force of personality that Anj brings to each show. One of the highlights of the evening is always when Anj raises his glass and toasts everyone in the club. He reaches out to his audience and draws each one of them individually into a world of melody.

Many so-called live music acts in Second Life are no more than glorified karaoke acts. The Singer puts on a backing track and then croons along with varying degrees of success. The Anj difference is that each one of his backing tracks is painstakingly created in his home studio and then blended live each night of the performance.

One can just sit back and chill and really get into the music. No need to close your eyes and imagine that you are at a real concert. Being at the REZ provides you with all the visual eye candy of a genuine performance. Anj has an amazing keyboard set up that animates his avatar to give the audience a “you are there” real time experience.

The audience is always extremely appreciative as evidenced by the amount of chat that goes by as they show their support. The end of each song is met with applause and some of the fans even hoist lighters over their heads to encourage Anj to keep on belting them out. And belt them out he does, Going from Rock and Roll to instrumental piano and soulful blues melodies.

Next time you want to take a special person out, remember that every other Friday night at the Rez is ANJ night. His show starts promptly at 6 PM so get in early because the REZ is usually put to the capacity test.
